So we've had a pretty bad week the past week. Kahlen got really sick with a horrible cough and a fever So for school it made it a bit tough with a poor little Kahlen being very grumpy and sick but for the most part we made it through this week.
We also started a new science subject .. ANIMALS!! yay the kids were so excited, not that plants weren't They didn't find most of it as fun as animals. So we started off the science subject a bit off. First thing i was suppose to go through with them was the story of creation from Genesis and ya well I can not find our bible! Some where lost in the boxes that are still unpacked from moving so i ended up having to search it! So funny me reading a bible chapter fro my laptop but they got the point, still it was funny watching me running and searching around the house and the internet but yay for the internet once again.
The next day I tried taking the kids for a little nature walk to search for animals and it started out wonderful but didn't last too long when a bunch of dogs up the street started barking like mad and the kids got scared and Leland fell and so we all decided to go home and try again another day.

So this weekend we decided to take the kids on a field trip to the fish hatchery. It was very cool because I've never even been there before. I wasn't to prepared with info or anything but we will be doing a hole thing on the life cycles of a salmon. This is the plan for tomorrow and I just took the picture and blew it up a bit so they have there own little work sheets for tomorrow and I am planning on doing a little fish art project. Fish life cycle worksheet
So I took tons of pics so here they are! Enjoy, we had so much fun
Us when we first arrived and reading about some fish species and then us walking down to the tanks. We were going to be seeing coho and chinook salmon.
This is were the salmon start coming up stream and into the hatchery.
We got to walk around on this walk way were we can look down on the fish swimming into the tanks.
Where the fish enter from the river and then pic 2 is where they jump in to get into the tanks.
FISHIES!! They were swimming around and jumping which the kids loved and they would scream ever time one jumped up. So cute.
We also got to go see down below into tanks which was neat. The Fish were all beaten up and had a white fungus on them which i learned were from damages from coming up the river. It was kinda sad to see some of these sores though.
Then from there they gather the eggs and federalize them and then make some babies! Which we can go back in a few months to see the babies which we will be doing for sure. The kids had a blast and I even learned a thing or two.
