How to fold an outfit together

Posted by Tiffany on May 15, 2013 at 4:35 PM Comments comments (0)

If you have kids like I do that make a mess of their dresser drawers buy digging through it then everything you put together suddenly gets separated. Here is a trick to fold clothes together. Works very well for PJ sets but also any pant and shirt sets.

Step one

Fold each item in half.

Step two

Lay the shirt on top of the pants

Step three

Fold the end half way over

Step Four

Fold the rest of the way

Its still about the same size folded together as it is just one on top of the other so no space loss and its just one simple grab and you have the out fit.

Easy Iced Coffee Recipe

I love my iced coffee's and they get expensive or maybe you can't always get out to get one. So why not make your own! I tried a few recipes from  Follow Me on Pinterest and either the recipe was way to elaborate or hard. I didn't have the ingredients and for all the rest ... they just didn't turn out. So I found one that came pretty darn close but I didn't like the cinnamon. So I made my own with that recipe in mind.

2 tsp  Instant Coffee

1 tbsp  Brown Sugar

1 tsp  Vanilla

1/2 Cup  Milk   ( I used THRIVE Instant Milk )

Ice Cubes

Add first 4 ingredients and stir until the first two are dissolved. Add your ice cubes, then top up with water. Give a quick little stir with your straw and enjoy!

  • 2 cups white flour (or whole wheat flour)
  • 4 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 cup milk

Mix and sift ALL dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt). Cut in butter or margarine. Make a hollow in the center of the dry ingredients. Add milk slowly to make a soft dough. Knead dough very lightly for a few seconds on a lightly floured board. Roll out to desired thickness and use a cutter or i usually just use a cup to cut out in circles.  Place biscuits on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 450º F for 12 – 15 minutes. The tea biscuits should rise and be lightly brown in color.

My garden so far this year! 2012

Posted by Tiffany on May 15, 2013 at 4:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Last year I started my very first ever garden which did not turn out so well. Turned out the compost bin I got going was attracting rats! Then the rats started eating my poor garden, so needless to say I didn't even bother continuing it let alone go in the back yard much.

So we moved and I got to start a garden again! It is way bigger then I can even handle and it needs a ton of work but this are growing! Not everything but somethings. I even got to harvest some radishes and turnips so far.

So here is a bit of a photo montage of what has been going on so far!

Day 1: Rototillering. We didn't get a good start on the may long weekend. It was so rainy here that we had to wait and wait until everything dried up. This of course being my first year I did not have any seedlings going or anything yet but I do plan on getting a green house going for net year for sure!

Then things started to come together around the end of the month

Then month 2

So the garden is doing good then everything off my green beans and peas all got eaten and same thing with our new cherry tree's so now we are battling deer, rabbits and slugs! So we did put a make shift fence up around the garden until we figure out what to do! eek!

But things are going on in there!

Happy 2nd Birthday Kahlen!

It is my baby girls 2nd birthday today! We are celebrating Sunday but I thought I would make a little post. She was born early morning today in 2009 and she was the easiest birth I had and my first using a epidural. I went natural with my first 2 but I couldn't make it and did opt for drugs very early in the morning because I was so over tired and in so much pain that I did give in. I won't go though my birth story, don't think people would wanna hear but she was just so easy and she was also a surprise! We found out the sex of both the boys but we were unable to find out Kahlens sex and I swore she was another boy but I got my girl! I was so happy to get my baby girl!

She was a very easy quiet baby. Then just like her brothers she started walking at 11 month old and that when all hell broke loose! She has now been on the go ever since!

Now she is just a little diva with a big attitude and a huge personality! She love animals and babies and sometimes hotwheels but she does have two older brothers!

Here are some random pictures  ( in no particular order) just a few of my favorites and some silly ones and a few from her first birthday =)

This one is of her today! on her 2nd bday ... asleep!

Don't waste your money on school supplies!

Posted by Tiffany on May 15, 2013 at 4:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Only a few more weeks until school start and it is crunch time to get everything you need! This year is only my second year of having kids in school and Leland started kindergarten last year I had no clue what it was going to be like. So when i first registered him at school they gave me this list off school supplies I needed. For kindergarten i got everything it listed and plus the lunch bag and thankfully my MIL got Leland a backpack. I remember after everything was done we spent about $100.

Then after school started we went to Walmart one day and all the school supplies were on clearance and me not even thinking I grabbed a few packages of lined paper for like $.25 when they were asking probably $1.50 the day before. I should have been smarter and just grabbed everything the boys would need this year because add a few more kids to buy school supplies for new every year it must really add up!

So this year we decided to start home school so I wanted to start getting their school supplies of course but   I'm no longer in a panic at all because when I went grabbed a few things when they were on sale at Zellers  I wanted to grab some pencils because they were advertised for 50% and would be $.44 a 10 pack but they were ringing in at $1.69. So my cashier calls over a lady from the department and she looked and they hmmed and hawed and trying to figure out why and the the lady said something that made my brain go "HMMMM......" ( In a "The world just sucks! " kinda way) she said "Well they just raised the prices on all the school supplies, so they might have not put the sale in the system". I kinda just shut my mouth and they gave them to me at $.44 and I walk out of there thinking two things, #1. It was a few days into the sale and I just wondered how many other moms trying to save a buck paid $1.69 form $.44! So sad to see and i started thinking they probably did it all on purpose and then #2 is what a$$*&^#'s. Of course why wouldn't they jack prices up just as people need that product.

So I have what I need and when everything goes on clearance this year after school has started I am grabbing everything I need and more and everything I know I will need for next year. So I am not spending hundreds of dollars on school supplies every year when i obviously don't need to.

So don't be crazy this year and when everything goes on clearance gran a supplies sheet or make a list of everything you will need next year and buy it now at probably a quarter of the price. It's also just a good time to stock up for your own office supplies and maybe a few crafting supplies.

Happy Shopping!

Left Over Pankcakes

Posted by Tiffany on May 15, 2013 at 4:00 PM Comments comments (0)

This is probably old info but I love to do it and thought I'd share anyways. Might be 1 or 2 people who doesn't know this little tip =)

If you happen to make too many pancakes or just wanna make some to put away for a easy morning breakfast, this is what I do.

I made pancakes for lunch yesterday and I added a tablespoon of Pumpkin spice to spice it up ;) I made 2 batches in stead of just one and this is what I had left over.

Bag up all the extra in a freezer bag. Then put it in the freezer.

Then if you ever want a quick and easy pancake breakfast just take the bag out of the freezer and plop the pancakes in the toaster.  Then you get yummy and if you toast it a little longer it cmes out with a bit of a crips but still yummy home made pancakes!
